Touch is for adults. We do not tolerate child sexual abuse or exploitation of any kind. This page sets out our standards, how we work to prevent abuse, how to report it, and what we do when we receive a report.
Our standards
- Zero tolerance. Any content, message or behaviour that sexualises, exploits or endangers a child is forbidden on Touch. That includes child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sexual messages to or about a minor, and any attempt to arrange contact with a minor.
- Adults only. You must be 18 or older to use Touch. An account that belongs to someone under 18 is closed.
- Enforced, not just written. A breach of these standards leads to the permanent removal of the account, and we report suspected child sexual abuse material to the authorities.
How we work to prevent it
- An age check at sign-up. Everyone enters their age when they create a profile, and Touch does not accept an age under 18. We don't check identity documents, so we act on every report that someone may be under 18.
- A verified phone number is needed to create and use every account.
- No strangers to browse. There is no public profile, directory or feed. You are shown only to adults you crossed paths with, and you can message only someone you have matched with.
- Photo checks. Every profile photo and every photo sent in a chat is checked automatically for adult or violent content before anyone else can see it. A photo the check flags is never shown or delivered, and a chat photo it flags goes to our safety team.
- Reporting everywhere it matters, and a safety team that reviews every report.
How to report
In the app:
- A person: in a chat, or on their profile in a Station, open the menu (⋯) and tap Report.
- A message or a photo: in a chat, press and hold it and tap Report.
- If you believe the person is under 18, choose May be under 18. For anything else, choose the reason that fits, such as Sexual content, and add a note if it helps. You can also block them.
When you report from a chat, including one that ended in the last 30 days (however it ended), the last few messages, including the reported person's photos and voice messages among them, are shared privately with our safety team so they can see what happened (for a chat that has ended, with the first report from that chat each of you makes after it ends; a later one is still reviewed, without a new copy). With a version of the app released before this change, a report on a chat that has ended is sent without the messages. The person you report is not told who reported them.
If the other person deletes their account, they cannot erase the conversation to escape a report. When they delete it in version 0.1.0 (13) or later of the app, or on our web deletion page, we keep the last 10 messages of a conversation that is open, or ended in the last 30 days, for up to 30 days, seen by no one. In version 0.1.0 (13) or later of the app, you see an entry in your Matches that names no one, only the date you matched; tap it to report the conversation, and those messages, with the other person's photos and voice messages among them, go privately to our safety team.
By email: write to our child-safety contact (below), even if you don't use Touch.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police or your local emergency number first.
What we do with a report
- Every report is reviewed by a person on our safety team, and no report is deleted unread.
- Suspected child sexual abuse or exploitation, and every "May be under 18" report, is handled first. We remove the account permanently.
- We preserve the evidence securely, only as long as needed to investigate and report it as the law requires. Only our safety team can access it, every access through our moderation tools is logged, and we do not share it except with the authorities.
- We report suspected child sexual abuse material to the authorities: in Israel, to the national child online protection hotline (105) or the Israel Police, and elsewhere to the competent authority.
- An account that belongs to someone under 18 is closed, whether or not anything harmful happened.
Working with law enforcement
We cooperate with law enforcement investigating child sexual abuse or exploitation. We respond to valid legal requests, and when the authorities ask us to preserve information, we keep it for as long as they need, with access restricted.
Child-safety contact
Touch's founder, our designated child-safety contact, is reachable at support@touchapp.app, about Touch's child-safety standards or to report a concern. For how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
