Your day becomes a Journey
Touch samples location sparingly in the background and works out where your day actually happened — the places you stopped, not every step between them. That Journey is yours. Nobody else can see it.
Places become Stations
A Station is a place and a window of time: this café, this afternoon. It names somewhere you were — never a point on a map where you are. Your exact coordinates never leave our servers, by design and by schema.
A Station only opens when it’s worth opening
Most of your day stays quiet. A Station surfaces only when someone who genuinely overlapped with you is also someone it would make sense for you to meet. No browsable directory of people, no feed to scroll, nothing to catch up on.
Promises we built into the schema, not the marketing.
These are enforced in the data model and the security rules, and covered by release-blocking tests — not left to a policy document to promise.
- Your exact location is never shared with another person. Stations name a place and a time. They never point at you on a map.
- You’re only ever shown to people who plausibly crossed paths with you. There is no browsable directory of users, no feed, and no “who liked you”.
- We don’t sell your data and we don’t use it to build advertising profiles.
- You can turn sensing off at any time, and delete your account. Your data goes with it — from inside the app, in a few taps.
Things Touch will never do.
Most of the work on Touch has gone into what it leaves out. These aren’t features we haven’t got to yet — they’re the ones we decided against, and the decision is written into the product’s own rules.
- No swipe deck, and no endless feed to get to the bottom of.
- No streaks, levels, badges or leaderboards.
- No “someone viewed your profile”, and no notifications engineered to pull you back.
- No continuous location tracking, and no Bluetooth scanning.
- No simulated activity. Every person you see was really there.
The app should feel like exhaling, not like a slot machine.
